Learn the basic beginner skills of flameworking with borosilicate glass on an oxygen/propane torch at my Langford studio, just outside Victoria, BC.

This two-day, hands-on glassblowing class explores several beginner techniques to get you comfortable on the torch — shaping, pulling stringers, frit implosion, silver-shaving pickup, and fuming (a student favourite for creating colour and 3D effects). You’ll also create signature projects like a crescent-moon night-sky pendant, mushrooms, and small marbles.

The focus of this fun beginner class is building torch confidence while learning foundational glassblowing and pendant-making skills. Your interests and creative goals will help guide the projects we explore together.

All glass pieces made in class are yours to take home. Pieces can be picked up within two weeks or shipped upon request.

Learn how to make vibrant flowers bloom and implode into beautiful 3D forms inside solid glass using an oxygen/propane torch. This intermediate flameworking class is taught at my Langford studio, just outside Victoria, BC, and focuses on precision, colour, and depth within borosilicate glass.

Covered in class:

  • Flower variations (using coloured glass rods or pulled stringers)
  • Shape, placement, and depth control
  • Fuming with clear glass (gold & silver vapour techniques)

The focus of this fun, hands-on 2-day glassblowing workshop is on making your glass flowers come to life — learning how heat, gravity, and movement work together to form mesmerizing 3D implosions. 🌸

Students can choose to finish their piece as a marble or pendant, with guidance tailored to their skill level.
This class is best suited for those with previous flameworking experience, but open to anyone with basic torch skills ready to take their glasswork to the next level.

Each station includes a torch, oxygen, tools, and kiln - everything you need to create with confidence in a relaxed, inspiring environment just outside of Victoria, BC. Conveniently located on the 95 bus route.

Whether you book by the hour or the day, it’s a comfortable, supportive studio to practice, experiment, and continue developing your glassblowing skills. Designed for returning students and experienced flameworkers, it’s the perfect place to keep learning, creating, and exploring your craft.

Single Lessons

If you’d like extra guidance, I offer personalized one-on-one mentorship tailored to your goals and experience level. Together, we can refine technique, explore new designs, and build confidence at the torch while deepening your understanding of glass. Perfect for the beginner needing a few tips and pointers.

The studio is conveniently located in Langford, BC, right next to the Langford Bus Exchange and on the #95 bus route — an easy ride from downtown Victoria.

Like most crafts, glassblowing takes patience and practice — but it’s incredibly rewarding. My lessons are designed to help you build confidence at your own pace in a supportive, hands-on environment.

Safety always comes first. Please wear natural-fabric clothing, tie back long hair, and wear closed-toe shoes. Safety glasses are provided, and the studio has excellent ventilation. I also have printed safety information in the studio.

Yes! I can accommodate up to three students at a time. It’s a great experience to share with friends, siblings, or even a parent and child — a fun, creative way to spend time together while learning something new. Must be age 14 or older.

Not for lessons, everything is included in the cost. You’ll need to bring your own glass rods or tubing if you decide to rent a station. I can help you source what you need and connect you with my trusted local glass supplier here on Vancouver Island.

I don’t sell glass myself, but I’m happy to point you toward local supplier from Vancouver Island and help you choose the right glass for your projects. I supply all the glass for the lessons.

You’ll learn about tools, safety, and how to gather, shape, and control molten glass. By the end of your first class, you’ll have created your own small glass piece to take home.

Yes! For those coming from out of town, I have an RV available for short-term rental. Pricing and availability can be discussed upon request.

Absolutely. One-on-one lessons are perfect for refining techniques, exploring new designs, or getting comfortable at the torch with personalized guidance.

Yes. Studio rentals are available for those who have taken a lesson with me or already have prior glassblowing experience. If you’re brand new, I recommend starting with a beginner lesson first.
