This beginner glassblowing class focuses on building confidence and understanding how heat, gravity, and movement work together in torchwork. Youβll receive step-by-step guidance at a relaxed pace, making it ideal for complete beginners or anyone with very limited experience.
Create Your First Glass Art
Students can choose to finish their project as a bead, pendant, or simple sculptural form. Every piece you make is yours to keep. Finished work can be picked up within two weeks or shipped upon request.
No previous glassblowing experience is required β just curiosity, creativity, and a willingness to learn. - Fuming, where 999% fine silver & 24K Gold are placed in front of the torch creating a vapour and used in different ways to create colour.
- Patterns range piece to piece and are metallic, opalescent, 3-d, abstract, smokey patterns.
- Silver is Blue/White/Green. Dark backing colour makes these colours pop.
- Gold is pink with a white backing and orange with dark backing. Using both silver and gold creates a rainbow hues that range from white/blue/orange/pink/green/purple.
- Different effects and colours are brought out by the backing colour and how the artist sculpted the glass.
- Subtle changes in the hues depending on what light is reflected and creates a beautiful shine and movement inside of the glass.
- Challenging to have full control the colour and will vary from piece to piece
